The winner of the IEM Masters Sydney 2023 tournament takes home $100,000 of that and also earns a spot in the IEM Katowice 2024 event, which takes place in January. That event has a $1 million prize pool.

The Group Stage of the IEM Masters Sydney tourney features two groups. The double-elimination format will be best-of-one in the opening round. The following matches in the Group Stage are best-of-three. The top three teams from each Group Stage advance to the Playoffs. All games in the Playoffs brackets are best-of-three.

The squad is coming into IEM Sydney with two runner-up finishes in recent tournaments. ENCE finished second to G2 Esports at IEM Masters Cologne in early August and then finished in second to Team Vitality at Gamers8 2023. In more recent action, ENCE placed 3rd-4th at the BLAST Premier: Fall European Showdown 2023 event earlier this month.

ENCE is has been playing together since 2022. The only member to join the club in 2023 is NertZ.

G2 Esports

The No. 3 ranked CS:GO squad in the world, G2 Esports have played together since the team added two new members in August 2022. The club, which plays out of Germany, had two big wins in 2023, picking up victories at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2023 and Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2023. Each of those wins earned G2 Esports $400,000. The team enters the IEM Sydney 2023 Masters, coming off a 3rd-4th place finish at BLAST Premier: Fall European Showdown 2023, which wrapped up on October 8. 

MOUZ
