They are looking to regain the trophy this Sunday against a Montreal Alouettes team who last won the Grey Cup in 2010, against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, in what was the seventh win in their history.

The Blue Bombers had a 14-4 record in the West Division. They were nowhere near as dominant as the Argonauts were in the East, finishing with just two more wins than the BC Lions (12-6).
It has to be said that the Blue Bombers made light work of the Lions last weekend. They got ahead in the first quarter and then put their foot down in the second to have an 18-10 lead at the halfway stage. A tight third quarter followed that saw a brief fightback from the Lions, but in the end, BC didn’t have enough to pull the game back, and the Bombers made the final for a record 28th time.

In total, the Blue Bombers are now 15-4 this season and on a winning streak of five. This could be an ominous sign for the Alouettes.
Montreal Alouettes
The Montreal Alouettes are 13-7 this season. In the regular season, they finished second to the Argonauts in the East Division. The Alouettes had an 11-7 record. Toronto topped the table with a 16-2 record. As a result, the Argonauts entered the postseason as the favorites to win both the East Division Championship game and the Grey Cup.

The gulf in class was supposed to be too big for Montreal to overcome. This was supported by the betting sites. In last weekend’s match against the Toronto Argonauts, the Alouettes were +500 to win.
