Will Bill Belichick return to the sidelines in 2024 to pursue Don Shula’s career wins record or will the 71-year-old be left without a gig once the NFL coaching carousel comes to a close? Belichick’s six Super Bowl titles are the most in league history, but he’s just 29-38 in the post-Tom Brady era following a 4-13 season.

Although, the team also met with Jim Harbaugh the following day, showing that owner Arthur Blank is serious about reeling in a big fish. The Falcons are plenty familiar with the legendary coach’s resume after the Patriots rallied back from a 25-point deficit in Super Bowl LI to win 34-28 in overtime.
At 81 years old, Blank is reportedly seeking an experienced leader to end his franchise’s six-year postseason drought. Atlanta is loaded with talented players such as Bijan Robinson, Kyle Pitts and Drake London. However, they currently don’t have a starting quarterback on the roster and Belichick struggled in that same situation in Foxborough last year.

How ‘Bout Them Cowboys?
Dallas (+340) flamed out of the playoffs in spectacular fashion, suffering a 48-32 blowout loss to the Packers on wild-card weekend. The Cowboys’ latest choke job has created speculation that Jerry Jones may be tempted to replace Mike McCarthy with Belichick. However, the 81-year-old didn’t enjoy much success in the early 2000s with Bill Parcells. The Big Tuna went 34-31 in four seasons in Dallas, with an 0-1 playoff record.
Other potential career paths
Belichick joining an NFL franchise’s front office and not coaching is at +230. While the soon-to-be 72-year-old’s expertise would add value to any organization, it was Belichick’s player personnel mistakes that ultimately cost him his job. New England let Tom Brady out of the building, whiffed on the Mac Jones selection, and picked wide receiver N’Keal Harry over DK Metcalk, Deebo Samuel and A.J. Brown in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Where will Bill land?
The Chargers (+750), Raiders (+950), Panthers (+2500) and Saints (+3400) are the only alternative landing spots on the board, but you can wager on ‘Any Other Team’ at +490. Los Angeles has been more connected to Harbaugh at this point and Las Vegas is rumored to be sticking with Antonio Pierce. With no quarterback, draft picks or hope of any kind, Carolina is a remote possibility. And Dennis Allen is still gainfully employed in the Big Easy.

Philadelphia was destroyed by Tampa Bay 32-9 on wild-card week, becoming the first team to start 10-1 and lose six of their final seven games since 1986. While Nick Sirianni is coming off a Super Bowl appearance and has the highest win percentage in franchise history (.667), he clearly lost the locker room.
Could Boston-native Jeffrey Lurie be tempted to replace Sirianni? While it’s a longshot, we’ll take ‘Any Other Team’ at +490 in hopes that Belichick lands with the Eagles.
