  • Max Verstappen (-500) is a massive favorite to win his third Miami Grand Prix in three years
  • Sergio Perez (+900) sits 25 points back of his Red Bull teammate in the F1 Drivers’ Standings
  • The 57-lap, 3.36-mile Miami International Autodrome hosts Round 6 of the Formula 1 season on May 5, 2024

Max Verstappen looks unstoppable heading into the Miami Grand Prix, where he’s already triumphed twice before. The three-time reigning world champion has won four of five races in what has been an uncompetitive season even by F1 standards.

2024 Miami Grand Prix

Verstappen favored again

Max Verstappen (-500) has victories in 23 of the last 27 races. The 26-year-old won both the Chinese and Japanese Grand Prix from pole position, only relinquishing the lead while pitting. He’s also the only F1 driver to win in Miami, capturing the checkered flag in 2022 and 2023.

Miami International Autodrome hosts the second Sprint weekend of the season. This will be the first sprint on the circuit around Hard Rock Stadium, which has 19 corners, three straights and top speeds of over 211 miles per hour.

Other contenders

Sergio Perez (+900) is 25 points behind his Red Bull teammate in the F1 drivers’ standings. He has three 2nd-place finishes this season.

Carlos Sainz (+1400) is the only driver other than Verstappen to register a victory this year (Australian GP). However, he and his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc (+1400) finished off the podium in Shanghai.

Lando Norris (+3300) scored a surprising 2nd-place result at the Chinese Grand Prix thanks to a clever one-stop pit strategy, good fortune and excellent driving. The young Brit now holds the Formula One record for the most podium finishes (15) without a race win.

Head-to-Head Matchups

Pick the Team’s Driver

Max Verstappen (-1000) vs Sergio Perez (+650) – If you’re picking against the three-time reigning world champion, there’s probably slightly better value in picking The Field (+400) than his Red Bull teammate.

Charles Leclerc (-120) vs Carlos Sainz (-110) – Sainz is the underdog despite finishing ahead of his Ferrari teammate in three of five races this season. Leclerc placed second in Miami back in 2022 before a seventh-place result last year, while the Spaniard has a P3 and a P5 on this circuit.

More driver matchups

George Russell (-130) vs Lewis Hamilton (+100). It has been a forgettable year for Russell, but the Brit has finished ahead of the seven-time world champion in all five races this year. Russell also has two top-5s at Miami International Autodrome while Hamilton has none.

Lando Norris (-300) vs Oscar Piastri (+240). Norris is the heavy favorite. Piastri has only finished ahead of his McLaren teammate in one of five races in 2023. However, he has two P4’s this season, so it’s not out of the question.

Best Bet and Longshot

Yes, Max Verstappen (-500) will likely capture his third-consecutive checkered flag in Miami.

However, if Red Bull struggles for any reason, rising star Lando Norris (+3300) is the best bet to capitalize. The McLaren frontman has equaled or outperformed the Ferrari drivers at different points this season.
