  • Max Verstappen (-6600) is a massive favorite to win the F1 Drivers’ Championship
  • Sergio Perez (-125) and Lando Norris (+250) are battling for second place this season
  • Ferrari (-225) and McLaren (+190) are the best bets to finish behind Red Bull in the Constructor standings

With victories in four of six races to start the year, Max Verstappen is cruising to his fourth-straight drivers’ championship. Red Bull also appears to have the constructors’ title on lockdown with a 52-point lead in the standings.

The Formula 1 season is so uncompetitive that oddsmakers now offer action on second place. Before we look at the latest F1 futures, check out the Best Offshore Sportsbooks for Formula 1 betting and get 2024 Canadian Grand Prix betting odds.

Drivers Championship (W/O Verstappen)

Race for 2nd place

Sergio Perez (-125) is favored to place second in the drivers’ standings behind Max Verstappen despite not winning a race in 2024. The 34-year-old Mexican has already finished second behind his Red Bull teammate in three races this season. With 103 points, he’s No. 2 in the drivers standings, trailing Verstappen by 33 points and five points ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc (+450).

Through six events, Leclerc has placed no worse than fourth. He secured his third podium of the year at the Miami Grand Prix, and finished second behind his Scuderia teammate Carlos Sainz (+1000) in Australia. Currently without a seat for the 2025 Formula 1 season, Sainz is one of only two drivers not named Verstappen to ride to victory this year.

Norris notches first career win

Lando Norris (+250) took the checkered flag at the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday, picking up his first career victory in 110 career starts. He was previously the Formula One record holder for the most podium finishes (15) without a race win.

Coming off a second place performance in China, the 24-year-old Brit earned McLaren its first triumph since Daniel Ricciardo at the 2021 Italian Grand Prix. However, he still trails Perez by 20 points and Leclerc by 15 points.

Constructors Title (W/O Red Bull)

Ferrari or McLaren?

Ferrari (-225) has a 63-point lead over McLaren (+190) in the constructors’ standings with both team’s having scored a victory this season. The question is if Norris’ win in Miami is a harbinger to bigger and better things. Can McLaren finally hang with Red Bull and Ferrari after a decade-long slump or will their rivals increase the distance between them as the season wears on?

Even if Norris stays hot, his teammate Oscar Piastri will need to close the gap with the two Scuderia drivers. With two P4s this season, Piastri is sixth place in the drivers’ standings, 42 points behind Carlos Sainz.

Best Bet

While it’s exciting to see another young driver emerge as potential competition to Max Verstappen, it feels like both Norris (+250) and McLaren (+190) are overvalued following their Miami Grand Prix victory.

Instead, we’ll take Ferrari (-225) to capture second place in the constructors’ standings and underdog Charles Leclerc (+450) to pass Perez and finish second in the drivers’ championship.
