Only eight teams remain at the 2024 T20 World Cup as the competition enters the Super Eights stage. The USA and South Africa are two of the eight nations left in the hunt for the trophy, and they meet in Antigua in the opening match of Super Eights Group 2 on Wednesday. South Africa is the favorite to win. But the USA will be keen to pull off another giant-killing. We tell you who will win in our latest cricket betting picks.

Regardless of the washout against Ireland, USA head coach Stuart Law would have no doubt taken two wins had he been offered it at the start of the competition.
South Africa is one of the pre-tournament favorites. The Proteas qualified out of Group D with four wins from their four matches. They did make hard work of their victories over Nepal and Bangladesh, which should give the USA some hope going into this match.
USA vs. South Africa Match Betting
The shorter format of T20 gives the USA a fighting chance against South Africa.
Normally, a Test playing nation like the Proteas would expect to make light work of the USA. And this would no doubt be the case if this match were a 50-over ODI or a Test match. But the fact that this is a T20 fixture brings the USA into the equation.
Despite the USA being in with a chance of winning, they are still outsiders to claim another famous victory. The USA is +450 to win on the money line. South Africa is -700.
Okay, that is short for the South Africans. But if this were a Test match, the odds on a South Africa win would be more than likely in the -1500 to -2000 region.

2024 T20 World Cup Outright Winner Betting
India started the competition as the betting favorite to win outright at odds of +230. After winning Group A, India are now +175 to win the T20 World Cup.
Australia is still the second favorite. The 2021 T20 World Cup winners are +300, having started at +350. England and South Africa are at odds of +550, and the West Indies are at +600. The winners are expected to come from one of those five nations.

The fixture is the first of three Super Eights matches for both sides. The top two teams from Super Eights Group 2 will qualify for the semi-final, so both teams will be looking for two wins to progress to the next round.
England and West Indies make up the remainder of the group. With such high-quality opposition in the group, it will be hard work for the USA, and the chances are they will finish with zero wins from their three matches.

South Africa has had a lot of low-scoring matches so far in the competition. Their highest run-scorer is allrounder David Miller with 101 runs. We expect the top order to do the bulk of the scoring against the USA, and that brings Reeza Hendricks and Quinton de Kock into the reckoning.
Hendricks started the competition poorly. But he returned to form with 43 against Nepal in South Africa’s most recent match. We’re backing him to build on that innings when he takes on the USA and make Reeza Hendricks our betting pick to be South Africa’s top run scorer at +275.
Nortje to terrorize USA batters
Anrich Nortje is enjoying bowling in the local conditions and is the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the competition with nine victims.
The South African quick bowler is one of the fastest in the competition. The minnows have struggled to cope with his pace, and we feel he will cause the USA batters a lot of problems.
