Orioles vs Guardians

Will Baltimore bounce back?

Baltimore had reeled off series wins over the Rays, Braves, Phillies and Yankees before being swept by Houston over the weekend. Brandon Hyde’s club will aim to bounce back at home, where they enjoy a 25-14 record.

The Guardians are 23-17 in road games. Cleveland blasted six home runs in its past two contests to sweep Toronto. While they’re facing the Orioles for the first time this season, the AL Central leaders won four of seven meetings in 2023, including two of three in Camden Yards.

Dangerous Guardians lineup

Currently on five-game winning streak, Cleveland has the best record in the AL. Steven Kwan is hitting .390 with a career-high seven homers in just 49 games. He’s raised his slugging percentage from .370 last year to .575 and has only struck out 16 times. Kwan is the perfect table setter for José Ramirez, who’s a career .314 hitter with four home runs and six RBIs at Camden Yards.

Baltimore leads the AL with 125 total home runs. Shortstop Gunnar Henderson is second only to Aaron Judge (28) with 24 dingers while Orioles right fielder Anthony Santander has 20.

Baltimore vs Cleveland

Baltimore is -120 on the money line while the Guardians are +110 to pick up the victory at Camden Yards. With a 25-14 home record heading into the series, the Orioles are +167 to cover the -1.5 run line on Tuesday. With a 23-17 road record, Cleveland is -192 to cover the +1.5 spread.

The over/under has been set at 8 total runs. Baltimore scores the most runs per game (5.23) in the majors, with the Guardians closely behind at 5.05.  Cleveland is only permitting 3.67 runs per game to opponents (4th), and the Orioles (3.79) are tied for sixth.

Pitching matchup

Logan Allen (8-3) picked up his eighth victory of the year against the Mariners last Thursday, allowing three runs on four hits across six innings. While his strikeouts have trended down, he has a solid 3.17 ERA over his last three starts.

Cole Irvin (6-3) is coming off a rough outing against the Yankees in which he allowed four runs in four innings. He had gone at least five innings in his four previous starts, however.

Best Bet

With Cleveland red hot at the plate, we’ll take the Guardians to win on the road (+110) with the OVER 8 runs (-110).
