More than 170 athletes will participate in the table tennis event which lasts almost the entire Games at the South Paris Arena, within the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.

Chinese athletes have astonishingly secured 32 out of the 37 gold medals and 60 out of the 115 total medals awarded in the sport. South Korea follows with three golds, while Japan and Sweden have each captured one gold medal.

A strong contingent is emerging to challenge China’s dominance in the sport, led by world number five and tournament third seed, Félix Lebrun of France.
