Low value symbols come in the form of the high end of a deck of cards, from nine through to Ace. If the right number of winning combinations land on a single spin, these symbols can offer between x0.4 and x1.5 the player’s bet.
Meanwhile, animals depict the high value symbols, with crocodiles, parrots, tigers, rhinos and golden monkeys offering between x0.2 and x5 the player’s preferred wager.
Kong medallion scatter symbols can also drop into play, triggering 10 free spins when three or more appear on the same spin. Additionally, landing four, five or six scatters on the same spin awards x20, x100 or x500 the player’s wager.
Banana symbols are also available on all reels, displaying cash prizes that can be collected by special monkey collect symbols that can only drop in on reels one and six.
Prize symbols can also offer jackpot prizes, with mini (x20), minor (x50), major (x200) and mega (x2,500) jackpots on offer.
Monkey collect symbols can appear in five forms, but each collect symbol has to be unlocked by triggering a win with previously unlocked collect monkey.
When players first enter the game, only the standard ‘collect’ monkey can appear, which simply collects all prize values on the reels on the same spin.
After a standard collect monkey win has been triggered, the next monkey collect symbol will be able to drop into play. Players can then unlock up to five new monkey collect symbols by continuing to trigger monkey collect wins.
Enhanced monkey collect symbols include ‘lock & collect’, which causes all prize symbols to stay sticky on the reels while the rest of the reels respin, ‘win stepper’ monkeys cause prize symbols to expand across the reels and ‘cash match’ symbols will transform all prize symbols into the highest prize value visible on the reels.
Furthermore, ‘super collect’ monkeys can collect each prize symbol up to five times.
After a win occurs with the ‘super collect’ monkey, the banana blitz mode is unlocked. This causes all prize symbols that appear across all spins to be collected in a pot beside the reels, which can eventually be collected.
Finally, wild barrels can appear on reels two through six, substituting for all symbols other than scatters, banana prizes and cash collect monkeys.
THE DETAILS
After three scatters drop into play, players will be awarded 10 free spins in which all unlocked monkey symbols will be able to drop into play.
If three monkey collects appear across the free spins, players are awarded five extra spins while all monkey collect wins will be multiplied by x2.
If a further three monkeys are collected, five more spins will be awarded and the monkeys collect wins will be multiplied by x3, and another three after that also awards five additional spins but the multiplier increases to x5.
For the feature’s final upgrade, when another three monkey collects have appeared, players will gain a final five spins while the monkey collects multiplier increases to x10.
In the base game, unlocking the banana blitz feature causes all prize symbols to be collected in a banana pot above the reels. On one random spin, this pot will trigger a feature that allows players to select one of three King Kong characters.
These characters can offer one of several bonus features, including one of the unlocked collect features, access to the free spins feature, access to the jackpot wheel, a win spin that adds high-value prize symbols to the reels and collects them or access to the super free spins feature.
Spinning the jackpot wheel can allow players to win one of the game’s four jackpot prizes.
If the super free spins feature is unlocked, players are awarded 10 free spins in which a special pick feature occurs before the game mode begins. Players must select one of six hidden bonuses.
Selecting one of these bonuses can either boost players up to a higher-level of the free spins feature, award extra spins, add more high-value prize symbols to the reels or more monkey collect symbols.
