This week, 16 Counter-Strike 2 teams compete in the online BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024 tournament. The top two teams in the event earn $20,000 each, as well as the final two spots in the eight-team BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2024 event, which begins on June 12, 2024 at Wembley Arena in London, England. The prize pool for that event is $425,000. The victorious squad takes home $200,000 of that amount.

The 16 teams competing in this event face off in a single-elimination format, with the winning team moving on to the next round of competition. The matchups are all best-of-three format.

Cloud9 had a disappointing 13th-16th place finish at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2024. Monte eliminated them in the lower bracket quarterfinals of that event. In their most recent outing, Cloud9 qualified for the PGL Copenhagen Major by placing 1st-2nd along with MOUZ at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR B tournament.

Team Falcons
Team Falcons play out of Saudi Arabia. The squad comes into the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024 event following an impressive showing at the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2024 tournament, where they placed 3rd-4th alongside MOUZ. Team Spirit eliminated Team Falcons in that event, beating them 2-0 in the semifinals. In their most recent tournament outing, the club placed 12th-14th in the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR A event.
Team Falcons have been playing together as a unit since late 2023.
