  • Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a +1000 longshot to participate in the U.S. Presidential Debates
  • RFK likely won’t offer an endorsement to Joe Biden (+550) or Donald Trump (+500)
  • The New York Times reported that the 70-year-old Independent candidate once claimed to be impacted by brain worms

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said his past health issues were “caused by a worm that got into my brain and ate a portion of it and then died.” That couldn’t be more on brand for the Independent presidential candidate who is presenting himself as an alternative to Donald Trump and Joe Biden this November.

Will the 70-year-old Libertarian participate in September’s U.S. presidential debates? Before we examine the odds, check out the favorites to be Donald Trump’s VP Nominees and view all our Politics betting picks.

RFK Jr. to participate in Debate

Polling numbers look strong

Oddsmakers view Robert F. Kennedy as a +1000 longshot to qualify for and participate in any U.S. presidential debate in 2024. To be eligible, candidates must poll at 15% nationally and be on enough state ballots to have “a mathematical chance of winning a majority vote.” While a third-party candidate has not joined a presidential debate since Ross Perot in 1992, RFK Jr. is currently polling at 16%, according to both a CNN and Quinnipiac poll.

Team Kennedy has claimed he’ll “have ballot access in every state by the end of July”. So, why the long +1000 odds? Well, Donald Trump has started ramping up his attacks against the Independent candidate. And it’s unclear whether Joe Biden will agree to a debate at the ripe old age of 81. Assuming he does, we believe RFK Jr. (+1000) will be on stage when the debates start up this September.

RFK Jr.’s brain worm authenticated

Brain worms?

It seems unlikely RFK Jr.’s brain worm will be authenticated by a doctor (+600). Instead, it will continue to be excellent fodder for late night comedy shows. Kennedy’s teams declined to provide his medical records to the New York Times, which first reported the story. The 70-year-old also joked on Twitter, “I offer to eat 5 more brain worms and still beat President Trump and President Biden in a debate. I feel confident of the result even with a six-worm handicap.”

With RFK Jr. eager to present himself as a younger, healthier alternative to the 81-year-old and 77-year-old Democratic and Republican offerings, there’s simply no way his campaign will be handing over his medical records to independent doctors.

RFK Jr. to endorse Trump or Biden

No endorsement is coming

RFK Jr. is a longshot to endorse President Biden (+550) or former President Trump (+500). Most experts believe the independent candidate will pull enough support from both candidates to impact the election. A new NBC News poll found that Kennedy’s candidacy would pull more votes from Trump than Biden. That was enough to set off Trump, who called RFK Jr. “a radical left liberal who’s been put in place in order to help Crooked Joe Biden.”

It would be a shock to see RFK Jr. drop out of the race and endorse either candidate. Expect him to go the distance.

RFK Jr. to break up with Cheryl Hinds?

No chance

Cheryl Hines, the actress who played Larry David’s wife on Curb Your Enthusiasm, is married to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. There’s absolutely no chance these two break up before the November 2024 election so don’t chase the long +3300 odds.
