The English Football Association (FA) has charged Mark Bowen, the head of football operations at Reading FC, with gambling rules violations for allegedly betting on matches 95 times. The FA outlined the alleged offenses, which occurred between April 2022 and January 2024, on Friday.

The former Wales player is the latest high-profile individual under scrutiny for betting offenses. Brentford striker Ivan Toney completed an eight-month suspension in January and Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali is nearing the end of his ten-month ban.

Bowen has until June 7 to issue a response to the allegations.
