League of Legends: LEC Summer 2024 betting picks

G2 Esports

The betting favorites to win this event, G2 Esports, play out of Europe. G2 Esports had a good year in 2023 in LEC events, finishing first in the Winter, Summer, and Season Finals tournaments. However, the club struggled in bigger events. They placed 5th-6th in the Mid-Season Invitational and 9th-11th in the 2023 World Championship. The club has continued to dominate LEC events in 2024, winning the Winter and Spring series.

Two members of G2 picked up awards at the 2023 LEC Season Finals in August and September 2023. Those players were Mikyx, who won MVP of the Year, and Yike, who picked up Rookie of the Year. The current lineup of G2 has been playing as a unit since late 2022.

Fnatic

Like the betting favorites for the LEC Summer tournament, G2 Esports, Fnatic play out of Europe. Fnatic struggled early in 2023, placing ninth in the LEC Winter event and 8th in the Spring. However, the team picked up third place in the LEC Summer tournament and finished as the runner-up to G2 Esports in the 2023 LEC Season Finals. The squad placed 9th-11th in the 2023 LOL World Championship. Fnatic has had more success in 2024, opening the year with a fourth-place finish in the Winter event and earning a runner-up finish in the Spring, where they lost 3-1 to G2 Esports.

Fnatic picked up three new players during 2023, Oscarinin, Noah, and Jun. The current lineup seems to be coming together well, and they could be a threat to G2 Esports run of dominance.

Team BDS

Team BDS, who play out of Europe, didn’t do well in the Winter 2023 event, finishing seventh, but the club rebounded to finish in second place in the Spring event. They then dropped to fifth place in the Summer. The club then took fourth place in the 2023 Finals. This year has been a bit better for Team BDS, as they have finished in third place in both the Winter and Spring events.

Most of the members of Team BDS have been playing together since 2022. The club picked up Ice in late 2023.

Team BDS has played well this year, but they have not had a top-two finish. Will the Summer LEC event be their time to break through?

Best bet to win LOL LEC Summer 2024

G2 Esports has been the dominant force in LEC events this year. With that, the team’s betting odds are not very attractive for this event. Yes, G2 Esports is the betting pick to win the LOL LEC Summer 2024 tournament, but there is a lot more betting value in picking Fnatic or Team BDS for an upset win in Berlin.
