Texas opened up their season in fantastic form with six wins in their first eight games, beating the Chicago Cubs, Tampa Bay Rays, and Houston Astros twice each. But they then lost nine of their next 14 games before they were able to put together back-to-back wins again, and ended April with a 16-14 winning record.

Since then however, they’ve gone 11-16 in both May and June with some really poor performances. May started with six wins in their first nine games, but they then lost their next five games in a row to undo all their good work. They recovered with two wins in three against the Cleveland Guardians and Angels, before another shocking run of six defeats in a row.

In June they lost five of their first nine games before back-to-back wins over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Following that though they went on yet another five-game losing streak, and then bounced back with a four-game winning streak including three-in-a-row over the Kansas City Royals. However they fell to six straight defeats after that in some poor form.

So far in July they have gone 5-2, including wins in each of their last four games to have an overall record of 43-48.

Los Angeles Angels season so far

Los Angeles have had a really poor season so far and they will not be looking forward to this run of games over the coming days and weeks.

They started their season with back-to-back defeats to the Baltimore Orioles before four wins on the bounce looked to get fans excited about the upcoming season. However, that was followed up by a shocking run of just seven wins in their next 24 games to see them end April with a poor record of 11-19.

In May things didn’t get much better for Los Angeles, starting off with four defeats in five. Their only victory came in a brilliant 6-0 performance against the Cleveland Guardians. After that, they claimed consecutive wins over the Pittsburgh Pirates, before once again falling to a run of five defeats in six. The Angels got some form back with six wins in their next nine, beating the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros twice each, before ending the month with six defeats in seven to end with an overall record of 21-36.

The form picked up in June however as they earned their first winning record for a calendar month of the season, picking up 15 wins. They beat the San Diego Padres in three straight games and then managed to end the month with a run of six consecutive victories in their final seven games.

After losing their first four games in July, they earned a win over the Chicago Cubs before losing their last two-in-a-row to enter this game with an overall record of 37-52.

MLB Picks: Texas Rangers to win

This season, the Rangers have won 27 out of the 48 games and are coming off the back of a dominant 9-4 win over the Angels. Texas has a record of 3-5 in games when oddsmakers favor them by at least -171 on the moneyline and with an even better price available, it seems like a no-brainer to back them to win again.

The Angels have come away with 32 wins in the 76 games they have been listed as the underdogs in this season, but their record overall sums up the way they’ve played thus far.
