The couple was in the vehicle when an assailant fired several shots into the car’s passenger-side window. The unnamed man passed away at the crime scene which was identified as a location on East Sahara Avenue.

The victims were located by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers at about 1:40 a.m. Tuesday.

The woman was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Her injuries were described as non-life-threatening, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

As of late Tuesday, LVMPD officers were still searching for the suspect. The LVMPD Homicide Section has taken over the investigation.

Police have yet to release a description of the shooter or a motive for the shooting.

The deceased man will likely undergo an autopsy by the Clark County coroner’s office. The office will identify the cause and manner of death. Staff will also confirm the victim’s identity.

Baby Left Alone at Hotel

A couple was arrested last week after they left a baby alone in a Bally’s Atlantic City hotel room, authorities said.

Jequan Campbell and Teeah McCall, both of North Carolina, were charged with endangering the welfare of a child after a housekeeper discovered the baby in a crib on Friday night. No one else was in the room at the time, police said.

The housekeeper went to the room to drop off some items at about 9 p.m. She knocked on the door and no one answered. So, she unlocked the door and walked inside the room.

Infant Asleep

The baby was asleep in the crib. Hotel security guards were alerted. They in turn contacted Atlantic City police officers. Officers later located the couple.

The adults apparently were in the gaming property’s casino when the child was spotted, according to Atlantic City radio station WPG.

The incident was reported to the New Jersey Department of Child Protection & Permanency. No word whether the child was taken away from the couple. The child was examined by EMTs. There was no indication the child suffered ailments.

After Campbell was apprehended, police found a gun. Campbell, 33, also was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of hollow-point ammunition, according to BreakingAC.com, a regional news site.

He was booked at the Atlantic County Justice Facility. McCall was released from custody on a summons to appear in local court.
