The 2024 League of Legends World Championship, also known as Worlds, is about to begin in Berlin, Germany. The event, which features 20 of the best LOL teams from around the world, runs through early November when the Final takes place in London, England. At stake is a prize pool of $2.25 million. The winning team takes home $450,000, while the runner-up squad pockets $360,000. All teams earn a portion of the prize pool, with the smallest share going to the teams who finish in 19-20. They earn $22,500.
The Play-In Stage of the 2024 LOL Worlds run from September 25-20 at Riot Games Arena in Berlin. The Swiss Stage takes place from October 3-13 in the same venue. The event moves to Adidas Arena in Paris for the Knockout Stage between October 17-27. The Final then heads to 02 Arena in London on November 2.
Last year, T1 defeated Weibo Gaming in the final to win $445,000.

League of Legends World Championship 2024 betting picks
Bilibili Gaming
2023 was an excellent year for Bilibili Gaming. The team finished as the runner-up in the Spring Split and the Mid-Season Invitational before placing third in the Summer Split. Bilibili finished the year with a 3rd-4th place at the World Championship. The team who defeated them in the Spring, Summer, and Mid-Season events was JD Gaming.
Bilibili Gaming are the No. 1 seed out of China. They went 15-1 in winning the LPL Spring tournament. The team then followed that with a victory in the Summer event as well. In international competition this year, Bilibili Gaming placed second to Gen. G in the Mid-Season Invitational. The team also placed 5th-8th in the recent Esports World Cup.
The majority of the team’s roster has been together since 2022, but knight and LvMao joined in December 2023, and Wei was added in July 2024.
Gen.G
The No. 2 seed out of Korea, Gen. G are looking to improve on their 9th-11th place finish in the 2023 World Championships.
Gen. G has had a great year in 2024, winning the LCK Spring event, and the LCK Summer event. They also placed first in the LCK Spring Playoffs and finished in second place in the LCK Summer Playoffs. In International Competition this year, the club placed first in the Mid-Summer Invitational, but 5th-8th in the Esports World Cup.
Most of Gen. G’s roster has been playing together since November 2023. The team’s veteran is Peyz, who joined in November 2022. The newest member of Gen. G is Mata, who joined the club in February of this year.
Hanwha Life Esports
Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) are the No. 1 seeded team out of Korea. This year marks the first time the team has qualified for the LOL Worlds since they placed 5th-8th in 2021.
Last year HLE did not finish any higher than third in a LCK event. The team kept that same pace to start 2024, placing third in the LCK Spring event and the LCK Spring Playoffs. They improved to second place in the LCK Summer event and then took first place in the LCK 2024 Summer Playoffs, beating Gen. G in the Grand Final.
HLE have made improvements this year, but they haven’t been consistently winning, which makes them a somewhat risky bet in a competition with a talent pool as deep as the 2024 Worlds.
