Congratulations if you picked Frank Reich to be the next head coach fired. You have a talent that should be explored. Reich wasn’t the favorite to be fired next according to BetOnline.ag – This is because Reich just took over the reigns earlier this season and is working with a green rookie QB in Bryce Young.
There are a few reasons we believe that Reich was fired. First, there were rumors that he wasn’t fully on board with being forced to start rookie Bryce Young the entire season. Young has been nothing short of terrible. He is among the worst QB’s in the league this season. It is true that quarterbacks need time to grow but over in Houston, another rookie QB is tearing things up.
Texans QB C.J. Stroud is also a rookie and all he has done is rewrite the Texans record book. His team is in the hunt for the playoffs and Texans fans have reason to be excited for the first time in years.
Reich’s team went 1-10 in 11 games and has averaged less than 15 PPG on offense for 5 straight weeks and 7 times in eleven weeks. Still, anyone with at least one eye can see the problem is mainly Bryce Young. He has missed receivers and has made some real rookie movies. But that’s why they call them “rookie moves”, because they are expected to make them. It doesn’t help that his receivers aren’t getting open and his offensive line is weak. Still, there had to be more to the firing of Reich. There was most likely weekly conflict between he and management/ownership.
Next Coach Fired Odds
Brandon Staley, the beleaguered head coach of the underperforming L.A. Chargers, is the heavy favorite to get the axe next. The Chargers were expected to do great things this year and all they have done is fail. They have posted a 4-7 record and are just two losses away from being eliminated from playoff contention. All eyes are on Staley as the hammer on the next coach is soon to drop.
